Journey Through Proverbs

I’d like to invite you to journey through the Book of Proverbs with me January 2018!  Proverbs is a book of teaching – It’s full of wisdom, knowledge, and instruction.  There are many lessons of justice, integrity, and discretion.  When we study this text and begin to actively put what we learn into use through everyday life, we will begin to learn, grow, and ultimately change.  Learning begins at making the decision to do something different, to make a change.  It’s not easy, but as we go through this study I pray your eyes will be opened to how to actively live out God’s calling on your life, take a leap of faith, and grow in your spiritual walk.

1 Timothy 4:8 “for while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come.”

This study is set up so you can do it independently or with an accountability group.  I do encourage you to find a someone or a group of friends to walk through this journey with you.  Life is a team sport, we all have our own unique gifts and talents that help us and those around us grow.

“Life change occurs in an environment of true community.  In true community, people live open, honest, and confessional lives in a culture of grace.” – Dr. Rob Reimer, Soul Care

Why Proverbs?

Because it’s one of the Old Testament books referred to as the *wisdom literature.  The scripture in this book is written for those of all ages, the wise and the foolish, the saved and unsaved.  The content address issues most of us will face at some point in time throughout our lives – diligence, laziness, friendship, speech, work, eternity… the list goes on!

Thank you for taking the time to take on this challenge with me!  I hope you will learn to see God’s love, blessings, and guidance in your life as we dig into the wisdom He gave us through Proverbs.  🙂

Proverbs 1:8 “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction.”
